Jennifer Aniston’s favourite fitness class just hit our shores. Here is what you need to know.
If you live on Instagram then chances are you have been noticing a new fitness trend circulating on the accounts of our favourite Melbourne based influencers. From fashion queens Rozalia Russian and Rebecca Harding to fashion apparel designers such as Pip Edwards, some of our favourite Instagram stalks have been elevating their fitness routines to a whole new level (pun most definitely intended). You know what name we’re about to drop, Rise Nation.
Once Hollywood’s best-kept secret, the 30-minute high-intensity interval-training class has been brought to our shores by Silvia Kramska. A respected and established PT and nutritionist, Silva first came across the class in LA, where it is the go-to class for Jennifer Aniston and a plethora of A-list celebrities. Not content with just attending, Silva’s entrepreneurial mind led her to bring the class to our shores. Opening the first Australian Rise Nation studio in Toorak and South Yarra, it’s only a matter of time before Melbourne’s hottest new fitness trend makes its way to a studio near you.
If you want to stay up to date with the hottest fitness class before it hits your neighbourhood, here are 4 things you need to know about Rise Nation according to so Silvia Kramska.
Rise Nation is a 30-minute HIIT class. This means it takes less time to get Jennifer Anniston worthy legs than it does to watch an episode of FRIENDS. Developed by training and movement expert Jason Walsh, it offers a full body workout using a VersaClimber machine (a cardio machine that stimulates vertical climbing). Originally launched in West Hollywood, the heart of LA, it has since expanded to studios in Dallas, Cleveland, Miami and now to Australia.
Unlike your ordinary gym, Rise Nation classes not only provide a full body workout in a short amount of time but also a community of climbers to share the journey with. We hate to name drop, but look we’re only human. Used by stars like LeBron James, Jennifer Aniston, Ashley Green, and Hilary Duff, Rise Nation is as much about community as it is about results.
I attended a class 2 years ago and fell in love with it. I had attended a multitude of other classes but this one stuck with me. It was a different sort of high. So a few months later I flew back to LA and spent some time with Jason. We quickly decided we wanted to work together and secured licenses for Australia and New Zealand. South Yarra has been open for 4 months now and we are currently looking to expand into Sydney. So to the Sydney fitness set, stay tuned!
Now one may be thinking, what could you possibly fit into a half an hour class that is capable of making a change to your fitness and body? As it turns out, you can actually squeeze in a zero impact, full body workout. But don’t take our word for it we’ll let the calories speak for themselves. Attend a class fully committed and you will burn an average of 600 calories.
Climbing is zero-impact and self-regulating, making our workout accessible to a more diverse demographic. The VersaClimber machine is non-traumatic and minimizes injury to bones, joints and muscles. This makes it a more suitable exercise option if you suffering from joint issues or may be recovering from an injury but still want to build on your cardiovascular endurance and are looking to strengthen your muscles and bones.
It’s a workout but it’s equally an experience. All of our classes are run by teachers from either a dance or music background. Instructors make their own playlists for each class and you climb to the beat of lights. If this won’t rekindle your love affair with exercise and male you commit to some serious goals, we’re not sure what will.
